Particularly gentle: Organic shea butter Nilotica cold pressing and unrefined. Nilotica shea trees grow in Uganda, South Sudan and Kenya. Only a few hundred tons are available per season and harvest can vary greatly from season to season: it is a luxurious, hard-to-find butter with limited availability.

Sheabutter is a natural fat obtained from the dried fruits/nuts of the karité tree. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and is excellent for regenerating the skin, it is also very suitable for skin creams and ointments for treating cracked skin, burns or grazed knees.
In addition, shea butter moisturizes the skin, is rich in vitamins and gently nourishing. This is very beneficial for aging, dry and irritated skin. It can prevent stretch marks, smoothen scars, soothe aching muscles and improve blood circulation. It is also often used in sunscreens because it protects the skin from harmful UV rays.

The native (raw) shea butter Nilotica is the East African variant. The difference between this rarity and shea butter subsp. paradoxa is reflected in the fatty acid spectrum. Nilotica shea butter shows a significantly higher content of monounsaturated oleic acid (50-60%) and a correspondingly lower content of saturated fatty acids. As a result, Nilotica shea butter melts at significantly lower temperatures than Paradoxa shea butter - making it particularly soft. Shea butter Nilotica tends to form less film and has better absorption properties. Its typical smell is more subtle than that of raw shea butter.
